The Well Safe House Program

The Well is a long-term restorative safe house program for women who have experienced sex trafficking, labor trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, survival sexual exploitation and/or forced prostitution.

The Well is not an emergency shelter. For immediate shelter, please call 211.

Safe House Eligibility

Is your client 18 years old or older?

Has your client been compelled to provide sexual services or labor services through the use of either
force (violence), fraud (lies), or coercion (threats); and/or


Has she engaged in commercial sexual exploitation (pornography, stripping, etc.) through the use of
either force (violence), fraud (lies), or coercion (threats); and/or


Has she had to rely on survival sex to acquire shelter, food, clothing, drugs, etc.?

Is Your Client Ready & Willing?

The Well is a long-term, restorative, sober living program designed to meet the physical, mental health, recovery, relational, and spiritual needs of the women who have experienced human trafficking or sexual exploitation.

 

A good candidate for The Well program is a woman who is ready to let go of the trauma bonds and unhealthy relationships that hold her back to embrace a brand new life full of empowerment, healing, purpose, spiritual growth, and sobriety.

Is she willing to let go of social media and internet use in the early phases of the program?

Is she ready to take responsibility for herself and her future?

Can she peacefully live in shared spaces and participate in shared chores and activities?

Is she willing to follow a schedule of specific program activities designed to move her toward self-
sufficiency and well-being?

Is she willing to be participate in house activities that help grow healthy relationships and create a strong sense of community?

Is she willing to engage in counseling, house meetings, vocational training and career development, fitness classes, arts program and more?

Program Application

Please complete a program application on behalf of and/or with your client.

Client Interview

Once we receive your client’s completed application, The Well staff will reach out within five business days to schedule a phone or in-person interview with the client.

Ways to Help Your Client
Prepare For Intake

In preparation for the intake interview, please make every effort to collect the following documents.

 

If your client is chosen for admission to the program, we will work with you to arrange for her transportation to our facility. Upon arrival, we will complete all admission paperwork for the residential program.

Discharge papers from hospitals, detox, rehab and/or psychiatric programs
