The Well
A Restorative Safe House Program
The Well is a long-term restorative safe house program for women who have experienced sex trafficking, labor trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, survival sexual exploitation and/or forced prostitution.
At The Well, survivors experience rest and healing, and begin to rebuild their lives with the support and guidance of our trauma-informed staff.
The Well is not an emergency shelter. For immediate shelter, please call 211.
Safe House Properties
The Well
The Well safe house is located on 82 acres in Bucks County, PA that is zoned for residential group homes. The house was completely renovated during the summer of 2014, largely through the efforts of volunteers who provided both labor and materials.
Participants begin their journey at The Well and when determined appropriate by their case managers and care team, they will move into our transitional housing property, Meleny's House.
Meleny's House
On June 27, 2021 Emmanuel Lutheran Church voted unanimously to offer their parsonage to Worthwhile to use as additional housing.
Meleny's House offers apartment style living to women who are ready to transition to independent living. This property gives them more autonomy while still being supported by the staff at The Well. Participants live at The Well and Meleny's House for a combined 2 years.
Free Comprehensive Services
Developed primarily as a safe house, The Well’s residential program provides long-term secure housing as a haven from social, psychological and economic factors. Services are provided free of charge and are aimed at developing a foundation of recovery and stability, leading to independent and healthy lives.
